April Check In
Happy April! I’ve been back from Mexico for almost a week and getting back into the swing of things. Only 11 weeks left in the school year until I’m finally free for the summer! We are officially in the home stretch.
My trip was absolutely wonderful. I will make a post about it at some point. Just know that Mexico was gorgeous, but that I would not recommend it to anyone unvaccinated. But now that I know how short the flight is, how cheap and beautiful Mexico is, and how many places there are left to explore (it’s huge!) I can’t wait to go back.
This month was much better than February and I got a huge influx of cash between my tax return, my stimulus check, and finally got my retroactive pay. I surpassed my goal for my emergency savings, had a great debt-free vacation, and paid off some more of my debt! Actually, I only realized while making this post that for the first time, the amount I have in savings is actually higher than my credit card debt!
I only meditated 10/31 days, walked on 13 (lots of walking in Mexico!), and had 6 no spend days. I was sober for 12/31 days and journaled every day except for 3 lazy days during my trip. I read 10 books and Duolingo’d every day.
I scuba dived, swung from a rope, jumped off a cliff, ziplined, swam in cenotes, explored a cave, tubed down a spring, and more! It was a wonderful month full of adventure. I don’t know how I’m going to top it! I’m so proud of my financial progress.
Savings: $5536 (+$1536 since March 1)
Credit Card Debt: $4755 (-$1449 since March 1 or 60% since I started these check ins last June!)
